Our Story
It’s hard to know exactly where to start.
In one sense our story goes all the way back to the beginning when God created men and women to have relationship with Him. It’s God’s story, so it’s our story. Adam & Eve, Abraham, Moses, David and more.
In another sense we could go back to Bethlehem, when Jesus was born, or Jerusalem, when Jesus died. When God took on flesh there was no more doubt that this story would change the world.
Or we could go back to the day of Pentecost, the day the church was born in the full power of the Holy Spirit.
Or we could go back to 1960 when a group of Christians decided that the new Southern Hills development in Shreveport, Louisiana deserved to have a great church and set about to make that dream a reality.
Or we could go back just a few years in the life of any one of our members and show how God is still transforming lives.
Our story has been written in a garden, on a mountain, in a manger, and on a cross. It continues to be written in living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, offices, factories, schools, and boardrooms.
It’s hard to know where to start because our story isn’t really ours at all.
It’s God’s story, and so is yours.
